Yonezawa - Space Tank with Spinning Ball Cockpit

This small friction powered space tank was build in the early 1960`s in Japan ( 1961 to be exact ) for Cragstan. This small tank ( Mars Patrol ) has a very nice action: a spinning cockpit. In the cockpit is a small astronaut in control. the cockpit is not made out of clear plastic as with most the cockpits but the tank has a mechanism that rotates around the drivers cockpit, must be very handy in outer space and I guess the idea behind it is the first idea of a "protected cockpit", very nice to see in action and must have been very handy at Mars :-)
The condition of this tank is excellent and It looks like the toy has not been played with much. Even the original antenna which is often missing is present. There is only very minor playwear and a few spots of minor paintloss but the overal condition of this cute tank is excellent to near mint. It comes with the original box that is also in excellent condition.
Yonezawa`s Mars Patrol Space Tank is one of the most searched for friction tanks of the golden age and does not show up very often in the open market. Hard to find in original complete and working condition with its original box.
