It still amazes my how these toys pop every time in the UK. They must have sold very well there because every time I find these in the UK :)
Also this example, from the first owner who played with the toy as a kid. Kept it all, the box, toy and in very very good condition. The only thing the toy missed was the antenna on top but I added a professional reproduction to make this awesome spaceship complete again.
Moon Explorer M-27 made by Yonezawa in Japan for Cragstan 1963. Everybody nowadays thinks that aibo (sony) is a great walking "robot" and that`s correct, but Yonezawa was able to create a walking spacetoy in the early 1960`s and believe me or not, this spacetoy walks great. It has an ingenious internal mechanism that drives 4 legs with pods to give it a stable walk.
Walking on 4 legs with a revolving antenna, cameraman comming out of an access door, flashing lights and a beautifull lighted engine.... This is really a great spacetoy with outstanding lithography. Its powered by a corded remote control that has the shape of a rocket. The remote has 2 buttons, white and red. Pressing the white button makes the M-27 to start walking and explore the "moonsurface". Pressing the red button makes the M-27 stop, a hatch/door opens and when fully opened, the cameraman/astronout comes out, shooting the "moonsurface". Then the door closes again and the M-27 heads out for new adventures.
The condition of the toy is really excellent, complete and all original and the explorer works fine and strong with all the actions, lights etc. The remote is original and complete and is flawless. The original box shows some tears and old tape repairs, done by the previous owner but is still a very nice example.
Overall this is again an excellent example of this much searched for spacetoy. Hard to find.
